About Judy Kempa native of Florida
I started showings signs of dyslexia as I got older. The school and teachers were not sure how to handle this, so they told my mother and father that I needed to go away to a special facility. Thank God they were not convinced; as a result most of my early years were spent with special tutoring. I give my aunt and parents most of the credit for seeing me through school, and helping to instill in me the faith that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. My aunt later went on to help thousands of students with learning disabilities. I began taking college courses in the arts after high school, which helped me hone my skills and learn different techniques. My ability to see something and transpose it into a work of art is a gift from God. It took a lot of commitment to be there for my husband and children while going to college. Naturally, this took away any extra time that I would have set aside for art. I did try to keep up with my art at home, which consisted of painting and carving on wood, hobby crafts, and portraits in oils and acrylic, drawings and pastels. I found myself doing shows and selling the works of art I had created in my spare time. Continuing with my career, I tried my hand working as a scenic artist with Universal Studios. I loved working with creative people and tried to glean new and creative ways of looking at things. My children are grown now, and I am spending my time in the art studio, enjoying one of the loves of my life. When asked how I can create such beautiful works of art, I simply reply, “I love God and I am a Christian, and believe that this is a gift from God and I know He wants me to share it with as many as I can”. I have more time now than ever before, and am devoted to sharing this gift that my Lord has blessed me with. |
